Welcome to the Region 11 Science Fair for area students, grades 7 through 12! We hope to see you at the Fair in March.
A Science Fair project is a science activity using a variety of skills, many of which you will teach yourself as you go along. You will develop your own ideas to investigate a scientific problem or question that interests you. In March, at the Region 11 Science Fair, you will display your project and talk to judges about it. Several projects will be sent to compete in the Illinois Junior Academy of Science State Fair, in May.
We have developed this web site to provide you with the information you will need to successfully complete your project. Please explore and familiarize yourself with the information by following the links on the left of this page.
Once you have selected a topic for your project, in an area of science in which you have some particular interest, experience or resources available to you, you should complete your project, following the Scientific Method.
In planning your project, you should become familiar with the rules and forms. You can access either the complete Student Manual, which requires MS Word, or for quick reference, view one of the sections.
