Project / Design Session General Information

  1. The Region 11 Science Fair is held at the University of St. Francis.
  2. Each school may enter up to ten project/design projects.
  3. Students may compete in Project, Paper or Essay Sessions. Dual entries are not permitted.
  4. Projects/Design Projects entered may have one or more student presenters; however, they must list a primary author.
  5. Projects/Design Projects submitted must follow the newest rules and guidelines in the IJAS Policy and Procedure Manual published on the IJAS website at www.ijas.org.
  6. Papers must be typed and can be double sided.
  7. All projects/design projects must have an Abstract and a signed Safety sheet within the paper, as well as, on the backboard. Projects/Design Projects without these required forms will be disqualified.
  8. Projects/Papers based on Human, Non-Human Vertebrates, Tissue Culture or Microorganisms research must have the appropriate endorsement and/or required paperwork. See IJAS Policy and Procedure Manual at IJAS website at www.ijas.org.
  9. Follow the citation format found in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (fifth edition or later) . No footnotes are to be used. Sources must be listed in the Reference List section of the paper as per APA format.
  10. Use this information when entering judges online:
    1-2 Projects…………………………one judge
    3-4 Projects…………………………two judges
    5-6 Projects…………………………three judges
    7–8 Projects…………………………four judges
    9–10 Projects………………………five judges
    Please note: Judges remain for the full day - A, B, and C sessions.
  11. Schools must also submit one helper online to work the day of the fair. Assignment to be given day of fair.

Schools that do not submit the required amount of judges will have their participate number reduced.

It is the responsibility of the teacher/sponsor to see that all requirements and deadlines are met. If a project fails to meet these requirements and deadlines, the project may be disqualified.
